Neighborhood Tour: The Country Club Lifestyle

Many home buyers seek the active lifestyle and sense of community in country club neighborhoods. Most of the master-planned golf course communities offer tennis, swimming, fitness centers and social organizations. Seasonal residents are attracted to them because they offer an established network of friends and activities. Several areas offer a mixture of condominiums, maintenance-free villas and single family homes Many seasonal buyers tend to either move up to a lager residence of scale down within the very same community.

The Meadows - developed over 28 years ago, this community offers garden apartments, town houses and single-family homes. The apartments range from $120,000 to $180,000; the town homes from $190,000 to $250,000. The single-family homes are usually available from $200,000 to $700,000.

The Oaks -a private Country Club community was once the private winter residence of the Chicago socialite Bertha Honore Palmer. It is a lovely neighborhood with elegant homes ranging from $340,000 to over 3,000,000. There is also the ten story Towers on the Bayside offering condominiums in the one to two million dollar range.

University Park Country Club - This gated community of unique private neighborhoods has received recognition as a Best Master Planned Community by the National Association of Home Builders. The golf course was voted the #1 course in Southwest Florida and #8 in the state by the Florida Golf News.
